From South Africa to Japan, from Morocco to Serbia, from Samoa to Mexico and Kyrgyzstan, seven young human rights educators show the way in inspiring young people to take action and promote human rights for all.

Human rights activists worldwide have been influenced by the UDHR, some directly – as in the families of those who drafted it – and others indirectly, by using it as a human rights road map for their work.

Human rights education is an essential contribution to the prevention of human rights abuses and represents an important investment to build a just, peaceful and sustainable future consistent with human rights principles. To confront today’s crises, human rights education is more important than ever.

Promising to rejuvenate the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, heads of State and Government, civil society groups, youth, human rights defenders and others gathered in Geneva to craft a common vision for the future of human rights and to rejuvenate the spirit that led to the adoption of the Declaration.
