The UN Human Rights Office in Mexico, the Ministry of Interior and the Executive Secretary of Mexico City’s Human Rights Programme have joined forces to promote a human rights approach to public spending in Mexico.

The death penalty has no place in the 21st century, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon declared, calling on all States take concrete steps towards abolishing or no longer practicing this form of punishment.
