Disappearances are one of the issues at the heart of international human rights. Since the entry into force of the Convention for the Protection of all Persons against Enforced Disappearance ten years ago, the Committee on Enforced Disappearances has carried out sustained dialogues with States, family members, civil society organizations and others to highlight the continuing threat of this crime.
