Francisco Vera is a 13-year-old human rights defender and environmentalist from Colombia, who in the span of four years, has managed to create a social movement with thousands of young activists with one purpose: defend the right to a healthy environment, making the world a better place.

As more people make digital technologies part of their daily lives, so do they expose themselves to risks in exercising their fundamental rights online. UN Human Rights has worked to map out these threats, help build defenders’ capacity to protect themselves, and advocate to States and tech companies to respect users’ rights and freedoms online.
