Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 77/217, the Special Rapporteur on the right to food submits the present report, in which he examines the emerging issues with regard to the realization of the right to food, in particular in the context of the response to and recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

In the present report, the Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, Tlaleng Mofokeng, focuses on food, nutrition and the right to health. In the present report, submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 50/9, the Secretary-General examines the adverse impacts of climate change on the full realization of the right to food, as well as greenhouse gas emissions relating to food systems.
